Great Notley, Essex

350 new homes as part of a long-planned, sustainable strategic extension to the south of Braintree, forming a portion of a major 1,750-home draft allocation in the local authority’s local plan.

Bellway has successfully secured and promoted land for approximately 350 new homes within an area identified for strategic residential growth to the south of Braintree. Braintree is the principal settlement within the local authority area and provides a full range of services and facilities to its residents and those in the immediate vicinity.

Promotion of the site involved collaboration with other developers to demonstrate the deliverability of a comprehensive, site-wide master plan that will create a highly sustainable community adjacent to the existing urban area.

To demonstrate the site’s suitability for development, an environmental impact assessment (EIA) is used to ensure effects on the environment and ecological and natural constraints are carefully identified, considered, and mitigated. The EIA is prepared in conjunction with other parties within the strategic allocation and will form part of the planning application for the site
