Bellway Strategic Land secured a site to promote for housing and achieved an early planning consent for an initial phase of 59 dwellings, which has been built out by our Eastern Counties division.
The site was unallocated greenfield site and was granted planning permission in 2019 in the context of a formally ‘made’ Neighbourhood Plan, which included collaborative working with the Godmanchester Neighbourhood Plan Steer Group, alongside close liaison with Huntingdonshire District Council.
The design of the scheme was commended by the planning committee, which has now been delivered in a high-quality scheme.
Bellway Strategic Land Director (Central), Fergus Thomas, said: “It’s always pleasing to see strategic sites come to fruition, and demonstrates our ability to successfully promote the right sites that have development potential to meet identified housing needs.
“It is satisfying for us to have seen this through from approaching the landowners directly, rigorously promoting the site through the planning system, securing planning consent and acquiring the site early.”
Bellway Strategic Land are actively promoting Phase 2 through the planning process.
