Bellway seeks permission to build around 111 homes in Branton, near Doncaster

| News

Bellway Strategic Land has applied for outline planning permission for around 111 homes in Branton, near Doncaster.

The development is proposed for a 16-acre site off the B1396 Doncaster Road, on the eastern edge of the village.

Two consultation events took place in July and November this year to give local people information about the proposals and gain feedback from them.

The application to the City of Doncaster Council includes 23 per cent of the properties being designated as affordable homes, to meet the local need.

Alex Bowling, Bellway Strategic Land Manager for the North, said:

“We’ve submitted these plans after carrying out detailed consultation with residents. We wanted people locally to know all about our proposals and have an opportunity to give their views and comments.
“Branton is a great village with its own facilities and easily accessible, sustainable transport links to the array of services, facilities and employment opportunities offered by Doncaster.
“Our plans offer modern, high-quality homes in a well-designed setting with plenty of green open space, as well as footpaths and cycleways connecting the proposed development to the beautiful South Yorkshire countryside.
“The development would provide space for enjoyment and play within and around the existing trees and hedgerows on site, while we plan further planting to support and enhance biodiversity within the development boundary.”
