The three volunteers from the national housebuilder helped the charity with its Mission Christmas campaign, which is providing festive gifts for thousands of children all over the UK.

The team reported for duty at the warehouse on the Glover Industrial Estate in Washington, where the charity gets the gifts ready for distribution in the North East region.

Bellway team members Victoria Elliott, Ivo Vasilev, and Laura McManus visited the warehouse on Tuesday 9 December and took on a range of tasks during the day including taking in deliveries of gifts, sorting them by age and gender and packing and loading them up ready for collection.

Lisa Fox, Charity Fundraising Executive from Cash for Kids, said: 

“It was a pleasure to welcome some of the Bellway team back again. Their continued support means so much to us, and we’re really looking forward to seeing them again next year as we work together to make a positive difference for children across the North East and Yorkshire.”

The charity works year-round supporting children and young people all over the UK who are facing a range of challenges including poverty, illness and neglect. It works with businesses, charities and community groups and provides grant funding.

At this time of year, it runs its Mission Christmas campaign to collect and distribute presents for children who might otherwise not receive any gift at Christmas because their families cannot afford it. People can donate gifts at drop-off points or give cash or gifts online.

“What could be nicer than making sure that children who would otherwise not get a present receive something to open on Christmas morning. Cash for Kids Mission Christmas is a heartwarming campaign that does so much good and makes a real difference to children who are facing such hard times.

“Bellway volunteers helped out at the Cash for Kids warehouse last Christmas and it was a pleasure to do so again.

“We enjoyed our day of volunteering at the warehouse and it’s nice to think that our efforts will help to put smiles on faces on Christmas morning.”
