Maidstone, Kent

Parsonage Place is a carefully designed and sensitive development in Maidstone, Kent.

After securing an option agreement with the landowners, Bellway successfully promoted the site and secured an allocation in the Maidstone Borough Council Local Plan. Detailed planning permission was achieved for 421 new homes, including 30% Affordable Homes.

A landscape and heritage-led design process was followed to protect the Grade I listed St Nicholas Church, Grade II Old Rectory, Rectory Cottage, and Church House. This approach can be seen in the housing, which respects its edge-of-settlement location and provides a diverse range of homes, reflecting the architectural character of the surrounding area.

Complementing the design of the homes, a central green provides a social, physical, and visual focus to the natural framework which comprises open spaces, a formal green square, landscaped buffers, green corridors, and a community orchard.
